Camera & Mic Test – Check Your Webcam Online

Test your webcam and microphone in seconds before your next video call. Nothing is recorded.

Check that your webcam and microphone work before your next Zoom, Meet, or Teams call. You'll see a live preview and a moving mic level — if the bar reacts to your voice, your mic is working.

Your browser will ask permission to use the camera and mic. The video and audio stay on your device — nothing is recorded, streamed, or uploaded.

Use this free camera and mic test to make sure your webcam and microphone work before an important video call. You'll get a live preview and a mic level meter that moves when you speak — if the bar reacts to your voice, your microphone is working. Everything stays on your device; nothing is recorded or streamed.

How it works

  1. Click Start camera & mic test and allow access when your browser asks.
  2. Check the live video preview and the resolution shown in the corner.
  3. Speak — the mic meter should jump. Switch cameras or mics from the dropdowns if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video or audio recorded?

No. The preview is shown live on your screen only. Nothing is recorded, streamed, or uploaded — closing the page ends everything immediately.

Why is my camera blocked?

You likely denied permission. Click the camera icon in your browser's address bar, set it to Allow, then reload and try again. Camera access also requires a secure (https) connection, which this page uses.

The mic bar does not move — what is wrong?

Make sure the right microphone is selected in the dropdown, that it is not muted in your system settings, and that no other app (like Zoom) is currently using it exclusively.
