Clear tech help, tested by real people.
Guidelogy is an independent tech how-to publication founded in 2023. We write plain-English, hands-on guides for Windows, Google Workspace, and the everyday apps you actually use — plus a growing set of free, privacy-first browser tools.
What is Guidelogy?
Guidelogy is a free online tech-help resource that turns confusing tech tasks into simple, step-by-step guides. Whether you're trying to take a screenshot on Windows, build a drop-down list in Google Sheets, or turn off a setting on Instagram, our goal is the same: get you to the answer in the fewest possible steps — no jargon, no filler, no ten-paragraph intro before the actual instructions.
Everything we publish is written and reviewed by real people who test each method before it goes live. We also build free browser tools that run entirely on your device, so your data never leaves your computer.
How we make our guides.
Tested, not guessed
Every method is performed on a real device before we publish it. If a step changed in the latest update, we change the guide.
Written by humans
Our guides are researched and written by people, then edited for clarity — not spun out by a bot and left unchecked.
Kept up to date
Software changes constantly. We revisit popular guides and refresh screenshots and steps so instructions keep working.
Independent & honest
Guidelogy is reader-first. We're supported by advertising and the occasional affiliate link, but recommendations come from our own testing — never from who paid the most.

Meet Douglas Carter
Douglas Carter is the founder and editor of Guidelogy. He started the site in 2023 after getting tired of tech tutorials that buried a two-step answer under a thousand words of padding. His approach is simple: figure out the fastest reliable way to do something, test it, and write it down so anyone can follow along.
Today he writes and edits guides across Windows, Google tools, and social apps, and builds the free utilities in the Guidelogy tools collection.

Who is behind Guidelogy?
Guidelogy was founded in 2023 by Douglas Carter, who runs it as its editor and lead writer. Guides are written and tested by real people before they're published.
Is Guidelogy free to use?
Yes. Every guide and every tool on Guidelogy is completely free to read and use — there are no paywalls, no sign-ups, and no premium tier.
How does Guidelogy make money?
Guidelogy is supported by advertising and, occasionally, affiliate partnerships. Those never decide what we recommend — our guides and reviews are based on hands-on testing, and affiliate links are clearly marked.
How does Guidelogy keep its guides accurate?
We test each method on a real device before publishing, and we revisit popular guides to refresh steps and screenshots when apps or operating systems change.
Are Guidelogy's free tools safe to use?
Yes. Our browser tools run entirely on your own device — the data you enter is processed in your browser and never uploaded to our servers.
