Dead pixel vs stuck pixel
A dead pixel receives no power and stays black on every color — it usually can't be fixed in software. A stuck pixel is frozen on one color (red, green, or blue) because it's stuck “on”, and can often be revived by rapidly cycling colors, which is what the fixer does.
How to test
